Perimenopause is a major life transition when a woman’s hormones shift in preparation of menopause. This period of time usually begins when a woman is in her 40’s but may begin earlier or later and can last many years (avg is 4 years but may vary from four months to ten years). Irregular Periods - Your menstrual cycle may begin on a different day than usual or may skip a cycle entirely. The number of days in your cycle may vary - becoming shorter or longer.

  1. Blood flow during menstruation may become heavier or lighter.

  2. Hot flashes.

  4. Frequent urination.
